So the question of stress sickness are you vulnerable can have more than one meaning. The effects can lasts a lot longer than the cause. You may have become immune to the mention of the word as it is used everywhere and yet you are not immune to the effects of it in your life and on your health or your relationships.

Picture this a pebble starts rolling down a hill and if you have no way of stopping it, it continues to hit other bigger rocks and pretty soon you have an avalanche of pressure that is very difficult to handle and that is the time to call in the big guns.

Most people may not be aware that the liver is like the garbage disposal of the body so I thought it valuable to offer heal the liver – a few thoughts to our daily readers.

Wikipedia reports:

The liver is a vital organ present in vertebrates and some other animals. It has a wide range of functions, including detoxification, protein synthesis, and production of biochemicals necessary for digestion. The liver is necessary for survival; there is currently no way to compensate for the absence of liver function long term, although liver dialysis can be used short term.

This organ plays a major role in metabolism and has a number of functions in the body, including glycogen storage, decomposition of red blood cells, plasma protein synthesis, hormone production, and detoxification. It lies below the diaphragm in the abdominal-pelvic region of the abdomen. It produces bile, an alkaline compound which aids in digestion via the emulsification of lipids. The liver’s highly specialized tissues regulate a wide variety of high-volume biochemical reactions, including the synthesis and breakdown of small and complex molecules, many of which are necessary for normal vital functions.

Heal The Liver – A Few Thoughts

In the holistic health arena of Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM the emotional weakness of the liver is anger, jealousy and rage. The balancing power to that is kindness and the overall strength is control and decisiveness when the kindness and anger, jealousy and rage are balanced.

What the writer over at self-healingsecrets.com doesn’t know she was addressing is the kidney, not the liver. The kidney according to TCM deals with fear. Anger which has a higher vibration than fear is dealt with in the liver.

Here is a simple way to begin to heal the liver… It uses the second forgotten fundamental of [an exquisite] life and that is, energy flows, builds, strengthens and charges where attention goes. In a relaxed manner and without a this must happen right now attitude… focus your attention on your liver and breath. Just by placing your attention on your liver energy is flowing there. If you want to picture the energy being emerald green when you breath in and out that would be the TCM suggestion.

Here in the US  the government has the war on drugs, the war on terrorism, the war on poverty and now it seems they had declared war on your personal rights when it comes to health care. How would you like it if you were forced to poison your children with cancer causing chemicals?

This latest gross violation of medical freedom by government goons has been reported byWorld Net Daily in a story by Bob Unruh (http://www.wnd.com/2012/03/state-demands-child-take-cancer-causing-dr…). Other facts revealed in the story include:

• The case is being fought on behalf of Ken and Erin Stieler and their son Jacob by attorneys with the Home School Legal Defense Association (http://www.hslda.org).

• TheMichigan Department of Human Services has filed suit to force the parents to administer the chemicals to their son even though medical scans reveal him to be completely clear of cancer.

• The chemotherapy chemicals being mandated by the state include ifosfamide, etoposide and doxorubicin. All of these chemicals are carcinogens, meaning they cause cancer. The FDA openly admits that these drugs have never been proven safe in children, stating, “safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established.”

Cooking techniques that can increase nutrient availability are certainly an important part of a health-promoting diet. However, many people don’t consider the fact that some cooking methods can also increase the presence of toxins in their meal.

A significant number of consumer reports and scientific studies have revealed the presence of harmful, carcinogenic chemicals and heavy metals in aluminum and other nonstick cookware products. Peer-reviewed research suggests that certain nonstick chemicals can contribute to cancer, birth defects, flulike symptoms, elevated cholesterol, abnormal thyroid hormone levels, liver inflammation, weakened immunity, and other health problems. These chemicals also pollute the environment, including public drinking water, and pose numerous health hazards during the manufacturing process. Such staggering reports are encouraging many to look twice at the cookware they use.

Safe Cookware Alternatives
So what can you do to protect your body potential exposure to these harmful and elusive toxins? The first step is to replace your aluminum or other nonstick cookware. Here are some recommended alternatives:

  • Cast Iron: Cast-iron cookware is a safe alternative that is well known for its durability and even heat distribution. Cooking with cast iron also saves energy, as it retains heat even after the heating element is turned off.
  • Ceramic: Ceramic or porcelain coated cookware also offers even heat distribution, and is nonreactive, meaning it won’t release compounds into food.
  • Glass: Glass cookware is the most inert, meaning it will not leach chemicals, metals, or other harmful ingredients into your food. Tempered glass cookware can be used at high temperatures for baking and stove-top cooking.
  • Clay: Unglazed clay cookware was once a kitchen staple throughout much of history, and today serves as a more natural cooking alternative. Clay is inert and does not leach into food, it holds heat and moisture, and it helps retain nutrient content. However, clay cookware is less durable and needs extra care to protect the life span of the product.

HOLISTIC health is a concept that takes into account everything that directly or indirectly affects our health. This would include spiritual, psychological/emotional, social, lifestyle, physical, hormonal, nutritional, exercise, environmental, and even, economic/financial factors.

Nowadays, to maintain good health is not always cheap, and to cope with hospital bills should you get sick is even worse.

Did you hear the story of the man who was successfully operated upon (he had quadruple bypass surgery) only to die of a massive heart attack after he was given the bill?

To all these, I would like to add energy (life-force) as an important component of holistic health and healing.

Although conventional medicine, being a strictly scientific discipline, has a more contracted view of what is meant by “holistic”, there is a trend towards acceptance of the wider definition, even among modern doctors

How you think and how you feel are included in holistic health. They are know as the psychological and the emotional components. Then there is the spiritual aspect as well.

A doctor of modern medicine can be holistic in his approach by looking into all the aspects mentioned above, while using modern medical methods of diagnosis and treatment. An alternative/complementary medicine practitioner can also be holistic and use his chosen method of diagnosis and treatment.

My view on health and healing methods and modalities is this – it does not matter if it is Eastern or Western, modern or traditional, conventional or complementary, as long as it is safe, effective and affordable

You gotta watch out for those dangerous doughnuts. You may not be aware that doughnuts and depression can go hand in hand. Actually, sweets and fast food have strong ties to the state of depression. In fact Jennifer Welsh a staff writer over at livescience.com had this to say…

Diet and mental state seem to be tightly entwined, with new research showing an increased risk of depression in junk-food eaters.

Consumers of fast food and sweets, compared with those who eat little or none, were 51 percent more likely to develop depression, the new study showed. The researchers saw that as depression levels increased, so did the amount of junk food eaten.

Study researcher Almudena Sánchez-Villegas, of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in Spain, said in a statement that “although more studies are necessary, the intake of this type of food should be controlled because of its implications on both health (obesity, cardiovascular diseases) and mental well-being.”

Sánchez-Villegas and colleagues found similar results in a past study, showing that people who ate the most trans fats had a 48 percent higher risk of depression than those who didn’t eat trans fats. Another study, by a different group of researchers, found a 42 percent increase in risk of depression with a fast-food diet. That study was published in Jan 26, 2011 in the journal PLoS ONE.

Dangerous doughnuts

The researchers can’t say the depression causes the high levels of junk food eating or if the fatty diet and other factors lead to depression. All they can say is the two usually come hand in hand.

I totally understand where Jennifer is coming from. However she is only reporting on the different studies in her article and she comes to conclusions that give no one a useful way out of the cycle that causes the doughnuts and depression dance. The solutions like eat more fruit, don’t smoke and exercise are not new and most people trapped in the doughnuts and depression dance have heard all that and they still have not been able to get off the dance floor of disaster.

From and quantum or energy point of view and even a psychological view, the focus on food is a less than useful place to put your attention. It’s like betting on a horse race after the horses are out of the gate and halfway around the track. You get put the horses back in the starting gates after the race has already started.

Prom a psychological view it is all about how you think, not what you eat because what your think will determine what you eat. From the psychological point of view the trick is to change your thinking and that can be done pretty effectively with hypnosis with a good hypnotist.

From a quantum or energy view it is about simply removing the blocks, resistance and constrictions in the flow of energy.

Laughter Is The Best Medicine

Research has shown that laughter reduces tension and stress levels and they say laughter is the best medicine. There are also healing benefits to music. 

According to the Mayo Clinic relieving stress with laughter in no joke and maybe just what the doctor ordered.

Laughter increases your intake of oxygen, stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles. What does that add up to? Increased blood flow. Also shown to improve your immune system. Stimulating endorphin’s in the brain that make us feel good. Even relieving pain. It’s not just short term, evidence shows there are also long term benefits.

A good laugh can be found anywhere,.even by yourself and at yourself. Of course its better to share the activity with an other. My children are fun and playing with the grandchildren delivers a belly laugh consistently.Do you have a pet? I don’t recall my fish giving me a chuckle but my little Pomeranian dog Dillon gives me a lot of pleasure and playing with him cracks me up everyday. Activity ups the ante on the benefits. Motion increases the blood flow. Any motion can be considered exercise. Laughter,motion, and blood flow. Your body loves all three.

Charlie Chaplin said “A day without laughter is a day wasted.” Mark Twain wrote “Against the assault of laughter nothing can stand.”

Music also has many beneficial and positive effects on a person’s well-being. It has also been shown to get the attention of Alzheimer patients. Studies all so show listening to music can reduce chronic pain and depression.

Music can be to be found everywhere. It’s in the trees, the birds, and the breeze. I love the outdoors. Fresh air and the sun. By the way, the sun delivers vitamins D,C K B, and E. Good stuff.

How easy is it to add motion to music? I have never been a great dancer but that’s not a consideration for me. It’s just plain fun. My dancing even has the ability to spread the laughter bug.

No matter what kind of music you enjoy turn in on. There is always something new to discover when it come to music.

Listen to some music, laugh with a few friends and see if you doesn’t feel better. Even if your healthy and happy it won’t hurt.

I’m positive there is someone for you to share a laugh with right now. One thing to remember, laughter is music!
