Super SmileThey say that a person is infinitely more attractive when they start to smile, and this makes good sense. So it’s time to get a super smile – Now! Nobody enjoys looking at a miserable face, so why do we not smile more often? Sometimes we may be a little embarrassed about the state of our teeth and other times we just cannot be bothered. This article takes a look at some interesting smile facts and also some ways to transform our smiles into something a little bit special.

Why Is Smiling Important?

A recent survey showed that the most popular facial feature that the public would change if they could, would be their teeth. 75 per cent of adults agree that a pleasant smile is very important for your career options. 84 per cent agreed that a killer smile is vital in your search for Miss or Mister Right. This survey was the result of interviewing 1000 adults between the ages of 18 and 50 years of age.

Friends And Smiles

Despite us worrying about our height or weight, people are more likely to remember you for your smile after your first meeting. 71 per cent of the 1000 people mentioned earlier, believe that you have a better chance of making friends if you carry a winning smile. 35 per cent believe that bad teeth will make a bad impression on that first meeting.

Smiles And The Opposite Sex

As mentioned before, 84 per cent of the sample crowd believe that a great smile will increase your chances of meeting a great partner. Over a third would not recommend someone with bad teeth as a blind date for their friend. The same percentage would not consider getting up close and personal for a kiss with someone who had bad teeth.

Smile Improvement

We can improve the quality of our smiles and teeth with just a few subtle upgrades. If you decide to visit your local cosmetic dentist, you may be surprised to learn how quick and effective some of these procedures really are. Just think about the overwhelming results of the statistics above and see if they matter to you or not?

White Fillings

One simple way to get dazzling results fast is to look into having white fillings as an option. They can replace your old amalgam fillings and will give the impression of a much healthier mouth and smile. They will last up to 12 years and add a degree of support and stability to the affected tooth. You have less chance of an allergic reaction in comparison to the amalgam filling and the white fillings are also more abrasion-proof. You can usually get the ball rolling with a single visit to your cosmetic dentist.

Teeth Whitening

Many of us suffer from discoloured teeth due to drinking too much coffee, red wine and spicy foods. This can be reversed by arranging for a teeth whitening process with your cosmetic dentist. Your teeth will be bleached in a very safe procedure and the result will last up to 5 years.

Make An Appointment Now!

If you are interested in these or any other cosmetic dentistry procedures, simply make an appointment with your local practice and get ready to dazzle your friends once again!

Discover The Truth About Teeth Whitening by Craig Reynolds

FacebookLinkedInPinterestShare

teeth whiteningDiscover the truth about teeth whitening. Everyone wants to have nice, pearly white teeth. That’s just a cold hard fact about the world. Unfortunately nature disagrees with this desire. Even if you don’t smoke, drink coffee or wine or interact at all with any of the products that stain our teeth, your teeth will get darker with age.

Your teeth naturally turn more and more yellow the older you get, and this can lead to undesirable, unhealthy looking teeth that are still completely natural and actually perfectly healthy. But when you flash your smile you don’t want people to be repulsed. You want them to be blinded by the glimmering white sheen of your sparkling teeth.

Discover The Truth About Teeth Whitening

Because there are so many factors leading toward teeth getting stained or growing yellow, society has started working on methods to whiten teeth. Over the counter teeth whiteners are a huge seller in America, for example, as people strive to counter the damage their dependency on Starbucks coffee does to their smile.

But do these over the counter teeth whiteners actually work for the better, to help keep the teeth white? And what do dentists have to say about the chemicals involved in these things and what it can do to your teeth?

Over the Counter Teeth Whiteners Can Work

The fact is most over the counter teeth whiteners will work, if adhered to for a very long period of time and used religiously. But this is true about a lot of things. The teeth whiteners you can buy from the corner store or from a pharmacy are actually incredibly diluted. They are so diluted you’ll rarely get noticeable effects out of them.

This is why they’ll work over a long period of time, as eventually you counteract the dilution, but it’s really not worth your while when looking to whiten your teeth, since it’s a very heavy investment to keep it up.

Why are they diluted like this? Well the chemicals involved in the process of teeth whitening can be very harmful to the gums if used in a high concentration. They cannot be sold over the counter at this point, as it will likely do more harm than good, so they’re forced to dilute it.

There are some products that are recommended by dentists for working because of the methods used, such as Crest White Strips, but for the most part things that say they whiten teeth are mainly using it as a gimmick to draw sales, such as the teeth whitening gum or mouthwash.

How Do You Get Teeth Whiter?

So how do you go about getting whiter teeth? As anyone who watches television can tell by the smiles on the actors’ faces, there are methods to make the teeth so brilliantly white, but what are they? The truth is actually simpler than you would think.

The fact is all it takes to whiten your teeth effectively is an hour long appointment at the dentist’s office. There is no fancy product or special technique that you can buy from the store, but simply calling the dentist and making the appointment is all that it takes.

The dentists have a special compound that is, basically, a more concentrated version of the stuff used in the products. The dentists can use this because they know how to do it without damaging the gums, allowing them to whiten your teeth without any concern.

The compound is sprayed in a mold that is placed over the teeth while measures are taken to protect the gums from it, and then left to sit for between half an hour and forty five minutes. When it’s removed there should be a noticeable difference in the sheen of your teeth. The truth is really just that easy.

Constant Training – Never Stop Working Out

FacebookLinkedInPinterestShare

We are designed to be far, far more active than we are. In the wild we would have spent most of our time tracking wild animals across the Savannah and we would have spent the rest of our time carving rocks and stones with tools we made ourselves. In other words we were physical critters and we were constantly on the go.

That’s the circumstances in which our bodies evolved, and as such that’s what our bodies are not only used to, but how they thrive. Countless studies have shown that we perform better mentally when we exercise constantly, and the positive effects this has on health are profound.

And yet today most of us will spend the vast majority of our time sitting down. Sitting in an office at a desk for instance, or sitting on a couch watching television. Our bodies slow down and the whole thing becomes slow and gummed up.

Those of us who are aware of this problem and who take an active interest in our health will try and avoid this by going to the gym three or four times a week, and for one hour we will intensely pound our body by lifting heavy weights and running long distances – before sitting down again and continuing to do nothing.

It’s an admirable effort, but as you can imagine it’s not that similar to the way we evolved to train.

Incidental Training

The thing is, that in the wild we never needed to train because we were always training. You track an animal or chip away at a rock and your body gets going. So the ideal training methods then should actually aim to mimic this and thus should be fairly constant as well.

Basically while I certainly recommend you hit the gym often (unless you have time to spend your days hunting for wild animals) I also recommend that you live generally a more active lifestyle and that you fit this training in around everything else you do. And this means using incidental training to do little bits of training wherever you can. In other words do things the slightly more difficult way so that you can make an average activity into a training opportunity.

Here are some examples:

•             When you go to the shop to buy milk – jog

•             When you come back with bags of milk and food, try shrugging them to train your deltoids

•             When waiting at a bus stop, do calf raises on the curb

•             When cycling put your bike in the highest gear

•             Have a pull up bar in your doorway, and challenge yourself to do 10 pull ups every time you pass through

•             Do 10 press ups every morning when you get out of bed

This works great because it means that your body spends more time in an anabolic state, meaning it is spending more time building muscle. At the same time this also means that you pump more minerals and amino acids around the body to the muscles. It also keeps you more awake and generally more active and helps to ‘wake up’ your body.

And apart from anything else this also means that if you then run out of time to do your pec training tonight – at least you will have done a few press ups throughout the day.
