Prayer Prescriptions Virtual Book Tour

FacebookLinkedInPinterestShare

A friend Kate Loving Shenk is on the 14th day of her Prayer Prescriptions Virtual Book Tour. She has written a new book called Prayer Prescriptions: Spiritual Remedies For Long Lasting Health that is being released mid-May.

Kate told me...

Prayer Prescriptions is a kind of holistic health remedy. They sooth your soul. They bring peace of mind. They teach you how to bring silence to every moment.

I have heard it said that prayer is you talking to God, and meditation is God talking to you. The more we involve ourselves in these practices, the healthier we will be.

True health begins from within your deepest soul. We can practice and experience health when we make up our mind to do so.

In this moment, my dog Pearl is my prayer prescription. I spent the whole day with her and loved every single second.

What brings you happiness? What brings you joy? Do more of that. Surround yourself with nothing but elevating vibrations. Then you will truly be bringing a holistic health remedy into your life.

In this case the remedy is a prayer prescription.

My book will be published mid-May. My editor just sent the book to me and after a few once overs, it will be ready for publication.

Thank you for stopping by. Namaste. Goddess bless.

Kate has been a practicing RN/CRNP for 28 years, and currently acts as a Labor And Delivery Nurse, which is very special, indeed.

Additionally, Kate is planning further “Prayer Prescriptions” books surrounding aging gracefully and Prayer Prescriptions For The Love Of Our Companion Animals, and Prayer Prescriptions For The Love Of Birthing Naturally.

So be sure and look for Kate’s Prayer Prescriptions: Spiritual Remedies For Long Lasting Health coming Mid-May. We will announce it when it is released so get ready to buy your copy.

Ancient Wisdom and Bio-Behavioral Medicine Work Together

FacebookLinkedInPinterestShare
Ancient Wisdom and Bio-Behavioral MedicineBrief Description/Abstract:  The synergistic correlation of ancient wisdom statements from the Proverbs with the findings of contemporary Bio-behavioral Medicine. Showing how ancient wisdom and bio-behavioral medicine work together.

One of the most fascinating documents of ancient clinical wisdom is the Proverbs or Mashal Collection of the Old Testament literature corpus.

Scholars have noted the remarkable thematic resemblances between the Proverbs and the Instruction of Amememope (ca. 1300-1075 BC) another book of ancient clinical wisdom.

The Proverbs emphasize wisdom as foundational for success in life.  Indeed, the term Proverbs is a transliteration of the Hebrew word Mashal which literally means superior mental action for successful living.

There is considerable evidence in Proverbs to demonstrate the dynamic synergy of the spiritual and the emerging paradigms of science and bio-behavioral medicine.

Ancient Wisdom and Bio-Behavioral Medicine Work Together

The Proverbs elucidate the power of cognition or thought to create either positive or negative conscious states or the vital necessity of choosing healthy thinking over negative and self-destructive thinking.

Within the ancient clinical wisdom of the Proverbs this compelling statement is given:

“A sound heart gives life to the body, but envy (jealousy) rots the bones (Prov. 14:30).”

This particular wisdom statement is obviously an example of antithetical parallism in which a positive assertion is elucidated in the first strophe and its contrast demonstrating an opposite reality is given in the second strophe.

A casual perusal of this statement would possibly yield a superficial assent to its truth, but this is not merely a philosophic aphorism.  There is a wealth of psychoneuroimmunological insight provided for the serious reader.  For instance, the word ‘sound’ is the transliteration of the Hebrew word ‘marpe’ and it means healthy, healing, or cure and the root of this word is ‘rapha’ which means – to heal.

The Hebrew word for heart is ‘lev’ which means: the inner person, or the spiritual essence embracing the mind, emotions, conscience, and memory.

A highly perceptive and astute differential diagnosis is given by the writer of this particular Proverb.  He knows that a healthy inner being will result in an equally healthy outer being.  He does not wrestle with the limitations of Cartesian Dualism.

He understands the intrinsic unitary nature of persons.  His insights are cogently perspicuous and the result of disciplined observation.

Contemporary Bio-behavioral medicine mirrors the remarkable insight of the ancient clinical wisdom saying given above.  For it has found this insight of the ancient wisdom clinician to be scientifically true.

Just as the wisdom writer knew that a healthy mental attitude is the cornerstone for optimal physical health, he was equally alert to the destructive consequences of a negative mental attitude on the body.

He knew that envy or, more accurately, jealousy, created tremendous emotional harm to the individual – “…but envy (jealousy) rots the bones (Prov. 14:30b).”

Envy or jealousy as the result of the prosperity or even sexual jealousy creates stress for the body.  Jealousy creates rottenness or “decay of the bones.”

Yakir Kaufman, M.D., defines stress as:  “…an extraordinary demand on the physiological and psychological defenses and adaptation mechanisms with concomitant neuro-immuno-endocrine responses.”

He further states:  “…first, the endocrine pathway causes secretion of several stress hormones, including CRH, ACTH, and Cortisol.  Cortisol has a potent wide range effect on many organs.  After being secreted it is distributed throughout the body via the bloodstream.  It enters the cells and affects the DNA within the cellular nucleus, thus changing the functioning of the cells, organs, and bodily systems.”

Additionally, “too much cortisol in the body can deplete bones of vital calcium, magnesium, and potassium.  It can lead to bone loss.” Don Colbert, M.D..

The Journal of Psychosomatic Medicine has several articles on the emotional impact of jealousy on the body.  The following articles all appeared under the key word jealousy.

  • Emotions and Gastro- duodenal Function:  Experimental Studies on Patients with Gastritis, Duodenitis and Peptic Ulcer Psychosom Med January, 1942 4:5-61.
  • John A. P. Millet, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in Raynaud’s Disease Psychosom med November, 1956 18:492-505.
  • Edward Weiss, Cardiovascular Lesions of Probable Psychosomatic Origin in Arterial Hypertension Psychosom Med Jul, 1940 2:249-264.

It is therefore highly important to seek the help of a competent professional if one is at risk for stress related jealousy and or envy.

Lighten Up – Holistic Health

Lighten Up

One of the challenges of every day life is the challenge  of taking things to seriously and it makes sense to lighten up. Now for those of us who are aware we are on a spiritual adventure we often carry the same challenge with us into our spiritual adventure. It may be because we are using terms that push the seriousness button in our lives. Terms such as path and journey are often thrown about as a foundation of being spiritual.

How often have you heard or even thought, “I’m on a spiritual journey or You need to find your spiritual path”. Both of those sound serious and like they require something from you. And yet neither of them portray a sense of ‘lighten up’. Here is a clip from You Tube

Lighten Up

Here let’s do an experiment say each of these statements and notice the difference in the feeling. Which one feels better?

Statement 1) I’m on a spiritual journey. Notice how it feels.

Statement 2) I’m on a spiritual adventure. Notice how it feels.

Which feels lighter? That’s the way you lighten up, you ask yourself better questions.

As my Grampa Vetter once said, “People should forget to act seriously and seriously act.” So lighten up and have a great day, seriously :-) .

Who Am I? | Holistic Health

FacebookLinkedInPinterestShare
who am I now

Who Am I?

The question of who am I comes up sooner or later in everyone’s life. People have the tendency to put it in the spiritual awakening category. I suspect it happens whether or not one ever consciously moves in a religious or spiritual direction. As reflective beings it is something that seems to sooner or later be part of the cycle we go through.

The interesting thing about getting to the answer of who am I changes as one takes on different identities through life, i.e. child, adult, husband/wife, worker, athlete, parent, etc. All of those are aspects, that some people call mask of who you really are. Some say the mask hide who you really are.

Who Am I?

Here is one man’s partial journey up until now from the-spiritualawakening.com

Have you ever pondered who you truly are? I was asked one day who am I and I answered I am Jonathan JDOGG Lederman the best emcee in South Florida. I then pondered that answer and went home and delved deeper into who I am and found so much more and began to realize that I am a man of faith, a giving person, a difference  maker, a loyal son, a great brother, and a person that helps other people excel. It took many hours of introspection and many days of peeling back the onion. I did this first through:

1: Seeking those on a spiritual path who have influenced others

2: Reading many books

3: Attending Workshops

4: Forgiving myself

5: Keeping a Gratitude Journal

6: Breathing when things seemed to push my hot buttons

7: Applying what I knew

8: Serving ties with negative influences

9:Building people up

10: Realizing that everything is in divine order and is the way it is meant to be at this time.

Spiritual Awakening: Being Authentic

If you are peaceful be peaceful. If you are a singer sing.If you are a speaker speak. If you are a painter paint. Whatever you believe to be your I AM, your Why?, Your reason for Living?  Be that and not something others think you should be. Back in College I though okay my parents want me to be an accountant so I figured I would study accounting then I realized what I really like to do is promote and talk to people so I changed my major to marketing  to the dismay of my parents. I found I was very good at marketing and landed interns with The N.Y. Liberty of Major League Volleyball, and The Long Island Knights of The United States Basketball. I also worked as the student manager of the alumni phon-o-thon. I have found that my authentic self is some who helps others to maximize their message and thus the concept of Jonathan JDOGG Lederman The Spiritual Emcee maximizing Your Messages.

On the surface these seem to be discovering and answering the question of who am I and yet all of these are simply swimming on the surface. Spiritual awakening goes deeper behind the different aspects and/or mask we wear and to discover the answer to the question of who am I takes an actual experience that goes beyond head knowledge. There is a process in Spiritual Technology that can be done in about 10 to 15 minutes, usually less than 20 minutes that give you the actual experience of who you are beyond thinking.

When one truly finds the answer to ‘who am I’ there is great emotional freedom.

It is a knowing that transcend time and any ‘I AM’ statement. I am this, I am that… It transcends all the aspect and all the mask and gets to the core of ‘who am I’ and it has a tremendous effect on time for you both the past and the future and whatever identity you are holding at present.

Getting to know ‘who am I‘ can be an aspect of solving your fundamental life problem.

Rules To Follow

It is part of human nature to look for consistency in the inconsistency that is life. That is why this article is for those who like rules to follow. Inconsistency brings excitement which continues to pull life force through us, which animates us, i.e. keeps us alive. Our unconscious or subconscious operates through pattern recognition. Neither consistency or inconsistency are good or bad they are just both present in life. It’s like breathing you have the in breath and you have the out breath and neither is good/bad, right/wrong. They are just what is and without them there isn’t much life going on.

I was going to put up a video today but I ran across something I thought might help you better. Well I didn’t really run across it I stumbled upon it over at stumbleupon.com.

For Those Who Likes Rules To Follow

A few rules.

1.Never stop thinking. This is important. If someone ever says to you ‘You need to stop thinking so much,’ call them ignorant in your head and keep thinking deeper. It is this mentality that breeds stupidity and sheeple. Your mind is the most important tool you have, if you stop using it, it will atrophy. Question everything.

2. Stare into space blankly and don’t mentally punish yourself for doing it, even if it is for that split second. If you have a problem with staring blankly, think of it as daydreaming.

3. Root Beer sucks after having spicy food.

4. Everything is going to be just fine. If you worry about acne, you’re going to get a fucking pimple.

5. Don’t be afraid to talk about anything. You shouldn’t be afraid of reality.

6. Everyone is a hypocrite.

7. You are all original. Every life experience is case sensitive and unique. Every time you wake up or go to the bathroom or quote someone else, you are becoming more you than anyone has ever been.

8. Do pointless things. Don’t actively restrain or hide yourself from the redundant.

9. Stop rushing. Shut up and embrace the sound of silence.

10. Religion shouldn’t be taught, it should be found. No one should tell you what to believe except you. And while were on the subject…

11. Don’t be restrained by one religion. People change every moment of everyday. Minds grow and evolve. Religion has no law so feel free to mix and match. Make your own.

12. Going to the bathroom is not a right nor a privilege. it’s an act of nature.

13. Talking to yourself is healthy. Is there anyone that you have more in common with?

14. There is no such thing as time. The sun never sets or rises. Days and years don’t exist. There is only your life. Earlier today you were born and death is predicted later in the evening.

15. We will always be in a transitional phase. Look outside and know that everything will be replaced at some point. This existence is temporary.

16. Its not half empty or half full. Its half a glass.

17. Every now and then take something that you see everyday and try to see it in a different light. Renew its existence.

18. Be happy, but don’t force it.

19. You will always succeed in trying.

20. We are all crazy. Every person you read about in the history books had some kind of ‘disorder’, they just knew how to use it.

21. We are all about as similar as we are different.

22. Ideas are just as valuable as people. Why do you think we keep making people?

87. Numbers don’t have to go in order.

24. Words will always be just words. Love is just another four letter word, only the feeling is real.

25. Ask a child for advice. They may not know much, but they know what is important.

26. Prove you’re alive. Do anything from dancing in the supermarket to screaming ‘Fuck’ during a moment of silence. Remind the world you are still here.

 27. Don’t take anything, even this, too seriously.

Are You A Victim Of GroupThink?

FacebookLinkedInPinterestShare

More and more people are talking about spiritual awakening these days. As with any change there can be a backlash so the question is are you a victim of groupthink? Groupthink happens any time there is a change of perception and we are living in a time where you or someone you know may wind up being a victim of groupthink.

Are You A Victim Of GroupThink?

Here is some information for in5d.com that Gregg Prescott wrote…

Have you noticed a change in your relationships with other people lately?  Is it sometimes difficult or awkward to talk to others about spiritual topics?  Do you, at times, feel alone in your beliefs?   Have you lost contact with any long time friends recently?  You are not alone!

I’m fortunate to have a lot of Facebook friends who post similar types of links. Too many times, I see a lot of people who talk the talk but are afraid to walk the walk, due to being ridiculed for their thoughts and posts (GROUPTHINK). I’ve lost some longtime friends because of this but have made many, many new ones. Once the ego is released, you no longer worry about conformity and peer pressure.

Groupthink is a psychological phenomenon that structures various belief systems within a group of people while discouraging individual creativity and independent thinking.  Even within a group of individuals who are spiritually awakened, you will find groupthink.

If you look at the recorded history of mankind, you’ll find that this history is merely someone’s interpretation of a landmark event or evolutionary process, backed by eyewitness testimonial, scientific data, video or faith.  The actual truth may be hidden or distorted for many reasons, but mostly for control and power.  Look no further than the origins of mankind and you’ll find a plethora of creation myths from all cultures with varying dates of our existence.  Who’s right?

Can you talk to your friends about the universe?  Do they know what a stargate or chakra is?  Are they willing to talk about ascension or spiritual enlightenment?

When you talk to people about the creation myth, they tend to remain inside the box with a belief system that supports religion’s story of creation, which dates mankind back to 4000 B.C.  If you raise questions about our true origins, it tends to separate people and relationships between those who think outside the box versus those who think inside the box.  When these topics arise within relationships, they often create dissention.  It’s hard for anyone to admit they’ve been deceived for so long and even more difficult to admit they were possibly wrong in their assumptions.

While I can understand the fear and the warning of loosing some friends because of your spiritual awakening and what Gregg has overlooked is that groupthink goes the other way as well. Are you a victim of groupthink is a two way street because spiritual awakening can lead to looking to another group to identify with and a  new groupthink that is adopted.

When you and I realize it’s ok to have different beliefs then we don’t loose friends  as we can accept each person where they are. What happens is we gain more friends and others we are still there for and because of our change in interest we spend more time with different people. And if we are judging others less by not expecting them to have the same beliefs we have there is less victimhood or being tripped up by groupthink.

Do You Have A Purpose In Spiritual Awakening

FacebookLinkedInPinterestShare

I don’t know the full answer to do you have a purpose in Spiritual Awakening. I have my thoughts and they are different from Gregg Prescott over at in5d.com and Gregg wrote…

So, what is my role?

Everything you have done in this incarnation has been part of your role and that includes every hardship, pain and ache, as well as every moment of happiness and bliss.

Every choice you have made in life had led you to where you are now and if you are reading this article, then chances are, you’re already playing your role.

Some people are unsure of what their role entails. They have a feeling like they are supposed to be doing something specific, yet they are unsure of what that role might be.

You might be comparing yourself to other people’s achievements and perhaps feel like you are not doing enough.  Let me assure you that we’re ALL playing a huge role in this awakening and while some roles are larger than others, NO ROLE is any less important!

Here’s an example.

My in5d YouTube channel has thousands of subscribers and the videos have been viewed millions of times. While it’s great that so many people have connected to these videos, this is no larger of an accomplishment than the person who has a handful of

subscribers and his (or her)
videos have only been viewed a dozen times.  Perhaps, out of those dozen views, you changed the life of someone who was suicidal?  Perhaps you helped to facilitate the spiritual journey of someone by encouraging them to think outside the box?

In turn, these people tell other people about their experiences, while the other people tell even more people about these experiences.  So, while the video only has a dozen views, you could literally be helping thousands upon thousands of people!

My best advice is to look inward for the answer because only YOU know all of the soul contracts that you made before incarnating to this planet.  Also, try not to over-think this too much because there’s a good chance you are already playing the exact role you agreed to play, even though you feel like there is more to do.

To read the full article go here: http://www.in5d.com/what-is-my-role-or-purpose-in-this-spiritual-awakening.html

I can understand Gregg’s point in his article however I suspect it depends on which level of spiritual awakening you wake up on. For some who have awoken they have woken up into Oneness so the question of do you have a purpose in spiritual awakening does not make sense because when one wakes up in true Oneness they are not there. No one is there only awareness but it’s really not awareness as there is nothing and yet there is awareness of everything. It truly is the ultimate dichotomy. It is probably the ultimate spiritual awakening as well.

I think instead of people having a spiritual awakening it should be plural ‘awakenings’ (it is sort of a dualistic thing) until  you have the one where there is no sense of you and yet you are everything but there is no you. Most people think meditation is the best way to foster a spiritual awakening. I agree it is a useful way.

However, the processes of Spiritual Technology are faster, quicker and more immediate in getting you the experiences of spiritual awakenings. There are multiple aspects of spiritual awakening and Spiritual Technology gets you the actual experience in a couple of the processes.

So the question may not be do you have a purpose in spiritual awakening, the question may really be do you want an experience of spiritual awakening?

One Mans Spiritual Awakening

FacebookLinkedInPinterestShare

Not many people have an experience of Oneness or at least we don’t hear about it that often and here is one mans spiritual awakening story from Kip Mazuy over at lifestyle.ezinemark.com. More and more people are having these experiences and it is changing their lives.

This happened automatically. And automatically I fell into silence, a place of just blackness.  And for about half an hour there was just this blackness.  It was nothing profound, no spiritual awakening, just almost like being in deep sleep yet fully conscious.

It was when I came out of this meditation that things got quite amazing.  And this spiritual awakening wasn’t a feeling of attaining something, but rather a feeling that something was gone.  That personal sense of “me” with all of its problems and conflicts was not there.  I was still there, still aware of the body, still functioning through the senses, but that stress that I recognized as myself was gone.

And in that loss there was the sense that I was part of everything.

I would say the experience was being one with everything, of oneness but that seems to imply something spiritual.  And I knew nothing about spirituality then, nothing about enlightenment or spiritual awakening or yoga.  I was completely innocent in that regard.  I knew a tiny bit about meditating and that was it.  Not enough to even really say I could meditate properly.  But if I look back on it, it was the experience of “yoga” which means union.

The experience was that this little me was so utterly meaningless.  There was the undeniable sense that I was actually a part of the infinite universe, I was not separate from it.  I could feel that connection, or rather, the lack of separation from it.  There was still the sense of me but it was not separate from everything else.  The borders of separation were gone.  And the feeling of this was incredible bliss and peace.  A sense of freedom like a huge weight had been lifted off of me.  I was happy for no reason.  I felt my true nature as joy.

To read the full article: http://lifestyle.ezinemark.com/my-first-spiritual-awakening-and-experience-of-oneness-7d322b9f17fc.html

As Kip went on to say this state did not last and that through his life he had other spiritual awakenings but one mans spiritual awakening experience can have a profound effect on the rest of your life as it gives you a whole new prospective of life.

If you want this same sort of spiritual experience of oneness you can take years by practicing meditation or yoga and other disciplines or you can have this experience in under an hour and change your life forever. With the development of Spiritual Technology it is much easier to bring the infinite into the finite.

How Spiritually awake do you want to be?
